I am a board member on the North Clinton Avenue Benevolence Project and my goals are centered around being an excellent example of the biblical teaching of how God uses certain individuals to achieve his plans for humanity. My belief is that all difficulties can be overcome by making relentless efforts to assist and uplift my community. One of the ways I demonstrate serving the community is through continued commitment to the Helping Hands Ministry that feeds the homeless. I work hard to inspire the numerous helpers and to model God’s grace of servitude.
My Christian journey was inspired at a young age by my mother Ruby, who emphasized the kindness and integrity of the Church of Christ. I have been a member of the Church of Christ for over 39 years. My husband and I always strived to be a positive influence on the community through ownership of a family tire shop since 1982. My mother, my father, my husband, and I utilized that business platform as countless opportunities to be a blessing to our family and to serve our community.
My schedule included raising a family with my husband Floyd, working in the tire shop, and at the same time holding different outside serving positions. My additional positions included working as the lead manager at Liberate, a halfway house for drug addicted females. I was also a residential counselor at Wood Services for children and adults with special needs. Additionally, I acquired an Emergency Medical Technician license. My adult life has centered around being obedient to God and honoring him by serving and giving back to the community.
