Helping Hands Outreach

The North Clinton Ave. Benevolence Project partners with the ” Helping Hands” ministry sponsored by the North Clinton Ave. Church of Christ in Trenton, New Jersey. Helping Hands has been a staple in the Trenton community for over thirty (30) years. Started by church member Clarence Scarborough, other church members pitched in and assisted him with donating various items of food and produce to be distributed on Thanksgiving Day (only). Needy families in the community were identified to receive the food baskets. Their benevolence further evolved into preparing various types of sandwiches and passing them out throughout the church neighborhood, on a regular basis.

Fast forward to 2023 and the current Helping Hands Ministry, now partners with multiple “other churches” throughout the region. They sponsor on a monthly basis (second Saturday of each month), a full course hot “sit down” meal. Upwards of ninety (90) to over one hundred people participate in enjoying sumptuous professionally prepared meals, free of charge.

NCABP board of trustee member, Diann Singletary has been leading the charge for the last five years. Other NCABP trustee members help and assist with this free feeding program, as well.
